Different channels of Video Marketing for that Visual Impact!
()

The latest trend by which the whole marketing world is swearing is the use of videos for marketing purposes. And why shouldn’t they? You get two options – a one page long information on a product or service which is dull and boring and a video of 2 minutes that is crisp, to the point and interactive – which one would you like to opt for and why? Well the answer is really simple and obvious. Almost everyone will opt for the video. No one has the time or patience to go through a one page document to find out what the product or service does when they are getting the similar information in a video which happens to be interesting and catchy. As a result more and more companies are opting for video marketing to promote their products and services.

  • But before you go ahead and launch the video, keep in mind certain factors. The first and the most important of the lot is the quality of the video. No one likes to watch a video that is full of jerks, has rough editing work done, with poor sound quality and where the pixels of the image has broken up making the video appear blurry and dull.

  • The second vital factor is the content of the video. Make sure that it covers all the aspects and yet it retains its crisp factor. If you think that for some reason it is failing to achieve the desired result then just highlight the USP of the product or service. But make sure that it is interesting and arresting from the first second the video starts playing. People will stop watching the video if it fails to pack in the punch. Everyone loves to feel the kick when they watch a video. You can also use an emotional feel or a feel good story or in short tell a story with a personal touch – consumers love such videos.

  • Make sure that you hire professionals to get the work done. Whether it is about casting the actors in the corporate video or those who are going to film it and edit it as well. If you compromise on this aspect no matter how great a story you are telling it will flat on its face.

  • And finally a lot depends on the different channels where you upload the video. Yes by Channels I don’t mean television channels (well although you can promote it on television as well) but here we mean to say social media sites. Facebook, twitter, YouTube and Vimeo are great places to begin with.

What Actions Should I Take Next?
As you begin to build your video presence across key social media tools, we offer a few tips for getting started with each:
Twitter – a popular social media, you can easily upload videos in Twitter. Just keep in mind that it is better to use a URL shortener for the full video URL.

  • Advantage: the use of relevant hash-tag ensures that your video gets enough scope for re-tweet. Word travels in seconds from the US to China.

  • Disadvantages: Don’t use too many hash-tags just to make it in the top 10 searches. On the contrary the user gets very little to say and considers you to be a jerk or a desperado and tend to avoid the video or retweet it.

Facebook – uploading a video in this social media site is very easy. You can either use a video URL directly or opt for a customized JW Player.

  • Advantage: When you upload the video in Facebook make sure to reply back to the comments. Once the user sees that you are open to communication the number of shares, likes is going to increase, which in turn will increase the visibility of your video.

  • Disadvantage: The quality and content matters a lot. So be very careful, uploading any kind of content is not advisable. If the content is not suitable for viewing then you will not be able to upload it.

YouTube – one of the most successful video uploading sites is the You Tube with more than 1 billion users and counting, the perfect place to upload a video is the You Tube.

  • Advantage: In order to do this you need to create your account and once the video is uploaded you can easily share it in facebook, twitter, reddit, tumbler and so on. All that one has to do is select the media where they would like to share it. As such at the same time you have the option to promote it in so many other channels.

  • Disadvantage: If someone complains about the explicit content of the video, then your video will be taken down and you will be notified.

Vimeo – it has a better picture quality and is popular amongst the professionals. You can automatically set videos to play in HD. But if you look for Google ranking or the number of users then YouTube is a better option.

  • Advantage: You can upload videos in HD quality. This channel is highly preferred by professionals.

  • Disadvantage: Low viewership compared to You Tube. So the reach and impact may not be that great.

We all know the reach and coverage of all these social media sites and how they can make or break the course of your company’s future. If you are looking for an affordable yet highly effective way to create an impact on your target audience then video marketing is the one to opt for. And if the latest trend is anything to go by then video marketing is here to stay!
